Rogue: The Solitaire-Like (RogueSL for short) is an experimental attempt to design a dungeon-crawling Rogue-like using only one deck of cards and no custom cards or pieces. It can be set up and played on a modestly-sized tabletop, using only a deck of 52 cards and 2 Jokers, with no other equipment necessary, and a set of rules that (I hope) is reasonable enough to remember as easily as any other solitaire game, over a few play sessions.

The game puts you in an appropriately sized card dungeon (6 by 4 cards suggested, but of course you are free to resize it as desired), and combat works via a suit-based advantage triangle and enemy-capturing. This, I hope, captures the essence of a traditional Rogue-like, in the medium of a tabletop card game.

I have been playing this non stop for the past 2 days the ace of clubs is my favorite ace ability I only been able to get to floor 7 so far but I am still on that run if I manage to complete the game I plan on randomizing to floor count with a d20 wish me luck

Oh, wow. I do appreciate you leaving a comment, and congratulations on setting what is, to my admittedly non-existent scorekeeping, a record-setting game length. You've run into - IMO - the biggest weakness of this game's core design: I never figured out how to set a satisfying win condition for it. Suppose a d20 is about as good as any. [/shrug]

Good luck on your continuation, though, and thank you for the note. 👍

Made all the way to the last room on floor 8 but died to the jack of spades I pulled a queens of diamonds on my last life. I eventually want to revamp the capture system with a tiered dice based item loot pool and some items will have effects on top of aces
